 Ramiro Lucas-Mariano The writing project prompts allowed me to learn more about my interests in Latino representation in professional fields, the history of the Chicano struggles, and the correction of "American Innocence". I had been familiar with the history of the East LA Walkouts of 1968, but researching for my writing project, I found more information about the ways that the Chicanos documented the movement within the community through their perspectives, not the biased mainstream media. Their local newspaper, also known as La RazaNewspaper, Magazine showcased the work of the students involved in the walkouts, the photographer, and the dedication to demanding education reform.  Aside from research learning, I learned to peer review others and learn to analyze the clarity in my papers.
